Offutt is scheduled to host its 47th Annual Retiree Appreciation Day Sunday, Oct. 18, at the Offutt Exchange from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Included in the festivities, will be an opening ceremony featuring an invocation, presentation of the colors, playing of the National Anthem and guest speaker,  U.S. Air Force Col. Marty Reynolds, 55th Wing commander.

"We have a tremendous retiree population surrounding Offutt who do an incredible amount for us and so it's very important that we return the favor by putting on a top notch event," said U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Mark Howard, 55th Strategic Communications Squadron and Retiree Appreciation Day coordinator. "This will be the second year in a row we've had the event at the Exchange and it should be even better than last year."

As an added bonus, there will be prizes and raffles.

Among the more than 20 booths set up at the BX, will be the 55th Medical Group, who will be administering flu shots, the Department of Veteran's Affairs and the Red Cross.

Shuttle buses will also be available to transport retires to the I.D. card office, now located in building 49, as well as the legal and finance offices. Some of these facilities offer limited parking, so utilizing the courtesy transportation is encouraged.
