The 55th Security Forces Squadron, protects and defends Offutt Air Force Base personnel and resources which include the National Airborne Command Post, four Presidential support aircraft and other C3 platforms valued over $9.1billion, through the application of weapons systems security; police services; combat arms; information, industrial, and personnel security; military working dogs; air base defense; and antiterrorism operations 24 hours a day/seven days a week.
The unit encompasses three installation entry points, a Visitor Control Center, law enforcement patrols, flight line security, an investigative branch, Combat Arms Training and the wing antiterrorism office. Members of the unit conduct law enforcement and community policing functions throughout the base and the Offutt Military Family Housing community. This includes enforcing all speed limits and rules of the road.
The Security Forces Pass and Registration & Visitor Control Center office is located adjacent to the STRATCOM Gate at 601 Butler Blvd, inside Bldg. 478. Office hours are 0700 - 1600 / Monday - Friday, with closures during Federal Holidays, Command Family Days, and Wing Goal Days. Customer services provided include: Visitor passes, Contractor cards, Veteran’s Health ID card registration, Special event entry authorization lists, Restricted area badges and Virtual out-processing for outbound personnel.
