AFAF Campaign kicks off at Offutt

OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Neb.--The annual Air Force Assistance Fund campaign begins March 7 with the focus on Airmen helping their own.

The overall 2022 AFAF campaign goal is $4.57 million, with Team Offutt’s goal set at $85,682.

“This marks the 49th year whereas an Air Force, we take care of own through an incredible campaign that is ‘For Us, By Us!’” said Col. Kristen Thompson, 55th Wing commander. “In these challenging times, the Air Force Assistance Fund supports our fellow Airmen and Guardians when they need it most. Let’s continue our proud tradition of taking care of our own.”

The AFAF campaign directly supports four official charities: The Air Force Enlisted Village, The General and Mrs. Curtis E. LeMay Foundation, the Air Force Villages Charitable Foundation and the Air force Aid Society.

“The Air Force Assistance Fund is for you and your families,” said Chief Master Sgt. Bryan Tuman, 55th Wing command chief. “It offers further opportunities through education loans and grants and provides homes to widowed spouses and ensures our retirees and their spouses live in dignity. It also helps our Airmen and Guardians in uniform with emergency assistance due to the varied effects of COVID-19 and daily life.”

There are numerous ways to donate to the AFAF. Using’s Offutt’s peer-to peer fundraising page, individuals can easily donate using a credit or debit card by visiting https://secure.qgiv.com/event/afaf/classification/268084 or text AFAF to 50155. 

Active-duty members and retirees may also donate by giving monthly from their payroll deduction plan which will run from June 1, 2022 through May 31, 2023. One-time donations are accepted by cash or check to one or more of the funds through campaign key workers.

The 2022 campaign runs through May 15.
