New tool provides Offutt maintainers with just the right blend
Master Sgt. Steve Pakusch, 55th Aerospace Maintenance Squadron production superintendent, explains how the Wolf Blending Scope works inside an aircraft hangar at Offutt Air Force Base, Neb. March 19. An adjustable grinding tool attached to a rod about three feet long can be inserted through a one-inch port on the side of an aircraft engine, which allows Pakusch to grind down irregularities without removing the engine from the aircraft and taking it apart. A light on the end of the scope along with a camera provide a high quality video feed to an external monitor, necessary for the repairs. (U.S. Air Force photo by Delanie Stafford/Released)
