A Combined Federal Campaign for good Published Oct. 27, 2014 55th Wing Public Affairs OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Neb. -- The 2014 Combined Federal Campaign is coming to an end, so if you haven't filled out your donation form, time is quickly running out. For more than five decades the CFC has allowed military, federal and postal employees to donate to the local, national and international charities of their choice. "The CFC has made a huge impact in the lives of others since its inception," said U.S. Air Force Brig. Gen. Gregory Guillot, 55th Wing commander. "The privilege of giving back to the community and helping those in need can be very rewarding. " The CFC was established in 1961 by President John F. Kennedy. It enables federal employees to donate to a charity from their paychecks through their payroll system. "Pledging just $1, $5, or $10 each month can have a huge impact on the cause you care about, and you will feel good seeing your donation in your LES each month," said U.S. Air Force Capt. David Rolek, 55th Wing Assistant Staff Judge Advocate and wing CFC lead. "Unlike other charity campaigns, the CFC allows you to choose from hundreds of causes, allowing you to donate to not just a cause, but your cause." All the information you will need to make an informed decision about which charity to support is in one location. For more information about the CFC, research charities or to donate online, visit the Heart of the Midlands CFC website at http://www.heartofthemidlandscfc.org/. You also have the choice of going through your unit CFC representative. "There is a charity for every passion," Rolek added, "I challenge all of our Air Force members to find theirs."
