The Offutt Advisory Council is scheduled to host its annual Offutt Appreciation Day Picnic May 31 at the Base Lake.

The picnic, which will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., is open to all Offutt AFB personnel and their families.

Amongst other things, there will be food, drinks, music, a rock climbing wall, bouncy castles, petting animals from the Henry Doorly Zoo and face painting at no cost to attendees.

There will also be prizes, including a big screen TV and a surprise appearance from a few special guests.

Shuttles will run from the lower parking lot of U.S. Strategic Command to the base lake from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. There will also be shuttles specifically for dorm residents to and from the dormitory area.

Additional parking is available at the lake, but people are advised to use the shuttle service in order to mitigate potential traffic congestion.

As a reminder, no pets, aside from service dogs, backpacks or coolers will be allowed at the picnic.

The OAC, which was founded in 1992, is a non-profit organization comprised of local community leaders with the purpose of building the bonds between the base and local community.
