Annual CFC campaign strives to be ‘face of change’

The 2021 Combined Federal Campaign officially kicked off on base Nov. 1, 2021, and continues through Jan. 15, 2022.

The CFC is one of the largest fundraising campaigns in the world and has raised more than $8.5 billion since its inception in 1961.

“This year’s theme is, ‘you can be the face of change,’ and I hope everyone on base takes that message to heart,” said 1st Lt. Jordan Koski, 55th Strategic Communications Squadron and CFC project lead. “There are so many troubles in the world today that this is one way we can have a positive impact to those who are suffering through some of those issues.”

The CFC is the only authorized solicitation of employees in the federal workplace on behalf of non-profit organizations. Federal employees can designate contributions to local, national and international agencies of their choosing.

“This year’s goal for Team Offutt is $50,000,” Koski said. “I have no doubt that we will surpass that amount and be an example for other installations to strive for.”

Unit CFC representatives will make 100% contact with everyone on the installation. They have information available that includes a list of eligible charities, information about the specific charity, and a pledge form.

“Everyone on base will have the opportunity to learn about the CFC and the agencies that are part of it,” said Master Sgt. Adam Karnowski, 55th Wing Avionics Manager and CFC team member. “I’m sure everyone can find an agency which they can get behind and provide support to. Every agency is feeling the constraints of COVID, budget cuts and organizational hardships. This is your opportunity to assist them and let them know that you care.”

Donations can be made via payroll deduction or a one-time donation.

“The CFC is setup so anyone who wants to make a donation has quite a few options with which to do so,” Karnowski said.
