The 55th Civil Engineer Squadron will begin transitioning from heating to cooling systems here as early as April 15.

Deactivation of base heating systems will begin when weather forecasts show at least five consecutive days with high temperatures above 65 degrees and low temperatures above 40 degrees Fahrenheit.

Activation of cooling systems will begin when weather forecasts show at least five consecutive days with highs above 70 degrees and lows above 45 degrees Fahrenheit.

The transition dates have been accelerating this year due to increased manning of facilities caused by personnel displaced from buildings flooded in March 2019.

During the next few weeks, people may notice civil engineer craftsman working in their mechanical rooms to prepare for the upcoming cooling season.

Questions regarding the transition should be directed to unit facility managers who may contact the 55 CES customer service office at 294-6101.
