Offutt open house, air show FAA exclusion zone, restrictions

  • Published
This year's open house and air show activities are schedule for May 4 through 6. The Federal Aviation Administration regulation requires a sanitized area during aerobatic demonstrations.

This zone will be active each day from Friday, May 4, through Sunday, May 6, as follows:

- May 4: noon to 5:30 p.m.
- May 5: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- May 6: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

During the FAA Zone activation, only "mission essential" personnel will be granted entry into Bldg. C (323) and Bldg. D (301). Workers must enter and exit through the Nelson Drive entrance to Bldg. C. All entries will be through the main entrance (north side) of Bldg. C.

Workers needing access to Bldg. D will use the connecting catwalk and will remain within the building structure.

Security forces will monitor entry while the zone is active.

If an organization has personnel that require entry during the above mentioned times, it must provide an access list to Maj. Dennis Shook, Offutt's air show director, with the name, rank and social security number for every individual needing access.

The FAA Zone no longer will be extended to the northwest.  Fort Crook Road, the Kenney Gate and Airman Drive will be now accessible.

The dormitories do not fall within the FAA exclusion zone and can be accessed via the Kenney Gate to Airman Drive. The Ronald L. King dining facility is not in the FAA zone and will not be affected.
