Colonel Kenneth H. Fetters

Colonel Fetters is the Commander of the 55th Maintenance Group.  He leads 1,200 personnel providing maintenance to 33 aircraft comprised of 2 variations.  He is also responsible for executing and annual budget of $9.3 billion dollars and a 14,000 hour flying program supporting high-priority global Joint Chiefs of Staff directed tasking.  The personnel under his command maintain all assigned and transient aircraft equipment, and develop maintenance plans supporting worldwide reconnaissance, intelligence and surveillance, Airborne Command Post, and National Airborne Operations Center Missions.

Colonel Fetters was born in Massillon, Ohio and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in April 1992 as an Aircraft Armament Systems Specialist. He served as an Armament Systems Technician from 1992-2000 working F-16 and B-1B aircraft. In 2000 he completed his bachelor’s degree in Professional Aeronautics and was commissioned through Officer Training School in 2001. His aircraft maintenance experience includes F-16, F-15E/SG, F-35 (Test), F-22, B-2, B-1B, MQ-9 and RQ-4D aircraft. Colonel Fetters has served as the Deputy for Logistics at the Air Force Sustainment Center, Requirements Manager for NATO’s Alliance Ground Surveillance Force, 325th Deputy Maintenance Group Commander, deployed Maintenance Squadron Commander for the 332nd Air Expeditionary Wing, Commander of the 7th Equipment Maintenance Squadron, B-2 Weapon System Team Chief, Operations Officer for Aircraft Maintenance and Component Maintenance Squadrons, Aircraft Maintenance Unit Officer-in-Charge, Suitability Analyst for F-35 Operational Test, and various maintenance positions within the Maintenance Group. Prior to his current position, the Colonel was the Deputy Director for Logistics, Air Force Sustainment Center, Tinker AFB, Oklahoma.
