OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Neb. - General John D.W. Corley, commander Air Combat Command, shows both his admiration and appreciation to Staff Sgt. Scott Lilley, during the 2009 ACC Outstanding Airmen of the Year Recognition Gala at the Omaha Hilton April 15. Sergeant Lilley was deployed from Minot AFB, N.D. on April 15, 2005 when his vehicle was attacked in Iraq. Sustaining severe injuries, Sergeant Lilley was not expected to live. Two years to the date from the attack he was the personal guest of Gen. Corley at the 2009 Gala and an inspiration to the general and all military members in attendance.
