This year marks the 50th Anniversary of the 55th Wing at Offutt AFB, and in keeping with the theme leadership has kicked-off a "50 Ideas in 50 Days" program.

The program gives Team Offutt personnel the opportunity to input their ideas for change.

The program represents the Air Force vision that people working closest to something come up with the best ideas and should be empowered to think creatively, find new solutions and make decisions.

It also embodies the wing's new mission statement.

"Thanks for embracing our new Mission Statement:  Innovate to Execute," said U.S. Air Force Col. Marty Reynolds, 55th Wing commander. "Innovation is our legacy and the key to our continued success as a Wing.  I need your inputs so we can begin to look at every process and consider what needs to be stopped, modified or started to better sustain our capabilities."

The program not only helps to streamline process, but can be effective in resource management.

"The initiative is to make sure that all ideas are given an opportunity to be evaluated and implemented where they make good use of our resources and capabilities," said Mark Kier, 55 Wing Continuous Process Improvement director and "50 Ideas in 50 Days" program manager.

Members have the option of submitting anonymously.

"If the individual uses their name, we will provide them updates and feedback," Kier said. "Also, if someone wishes to receive information on a particular submission, they can contact me and I will provide current status."

Either way the submission will reach leadership directly.

"My goal is to make sure the wing commander has the opportunity review every submission and make certain every Airman has the opportunity for their voice to be heard, their ideas evaluated and implemented where they make sense," Kier said.

For Team Offutt members with a common access card who wish to input an idea, click here.

"I need you to look around at the things you do every day and ask yourself, 'Can we do this better?'" said Reynolds. "If the answer is 'Yes,' then take a few minutes and document the information on the 'Innovate Your Ideas' SharePoint site."
