The 343rd Recruiting Squadron here is looking to fill recruiting positions throughout the upper Mid-west. Qualified Airmen in the ranks of senior airman through master sergeant need to apply and pass a qualification process to be eligible for recruiting duty.

Since most recruiting offices are far away from military installations, there are some benefits designed to offset the cost of Airmen living far from military installations. Air Force recruiters receive $450 in special pay per month, a supplemental clothing allowance, as well as a cost of living allowance. Recruiters also serve a four-year controlled tour.

Prior servicemembers discharged from the Air Force with an honorable discharge may also be eligible to apply for recruiting duty. Interested Airmen should contact their local recruiter to submit an application.
The following areas are currently available for recruiting duty: In Nebraska, Bellevue, Lincoln and Millard; in Iowa, Des Moines, Sioux City, Fort Dodge, Mason City and Ottumwa; in Minnesota, Burnsville, Bemidji, Rochester and Willmar; and in Wisconsin, Rice Lake.

For more information about recruiting duty, call Chief Master Sgt. Robert E. Schwanke at (402) 232-3345 or via DSN at 272-3345. Interested people may also visit the Air Force Recruiting Service Web site at http://www.rs.af.mil.
