  • Offutt AFB through the years

    In February 1924, the Douglas County Reserve Officers Association proposed the Fort Crook landing field be named in honor of 1st Lt. Jarvis Offutt. Offutt was Omaha’s first World War I air casualty, who as a U.S. Army Air Service pilot, was killed in 1918 flying with the Royal Air Force in France.

  • Police Week at Offutt AFB

    The Military Police Force known as the “Recon Raiders” which includes members of the 55th Security Forces Squadron and Navy will host local law enforcement agencies in a ceremony to kick off Police Week celebrations at Offutt Air Force Base at 9 am May 13, 2024.

    A team of AFGSC civil engineers hoisted the Readiness Challenge X winner’s trophy April 26 after a grueling six-day competition that tested 12 teams in more than 25 engineering skills ranging from firefighting to runway repair.
