Honorary commanders assigned to the 55th Wing, 557th Weather Wing, 95th Wing, and the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency participated in an immersion day at Offutt Air Force Base, Neb., April 28, 2026. The civic leaders gained firsthand insight into the base’s daily operations through senior leader briefings, a visit to the DPAA facilities and an up-close look at an RC-135 aircraft. The visit provided an opportunity for one-on-one engagements between military commanders and their community counterparts to discuss the installation's role in global security.
Team Offutt’s Honorary Commander Program connects community leaders with military commanders to strengthen partnerships, enhance understanding of the U.S. Air Force mission and foster lasting relationships between the installation and the surrounding community. The program also serves as a bilateral advisory forum, allowing commanders to exchange ideas and perspectives with civic leaders while building continued advocacy for Offutt AFB and its global mission.
