The 55th Medical Group held an assumption of command at Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska, July 28.

Col. Michael Manion, 55th Wing commander, presided over the event where Col. Judy Stoltmann assumed command of the group.

“I would like to officially welcome our tremendous leader, Col. Judy Stoltmann,” Manion said. “Without a doubt you are the right leader coming at the right time. You are an exceptional leader and visionary. I have no doubt you will take this outstanding group and propel it to further successes.”

Stoltmann said she will do everything possible to ensure the success of the 55th Medical Group.

“Although this is my third medical group, it means as much to me as my first command,” she said. “I am really honored and truly humbled to command here.”

Stoltmann said the point of the ceremony was to celebrate the successes of the unit.

“To the proud professionals of the 55th Medical Group, this is all about you,” she said. “You have already proven you are an extremely successful team and you should be proud. I look forward to working with each and every one of you. With your talents, dedication and drive there is no stopping us.”

Stoltmann comes to Offutt AFB from the 380th Expeditionary Medical Group, Southwest Asia, where she served as the group commander.

The 55th MDG consists of a four-squadron, 625-person health care delivery system providing care for more than 49,000 DoD beneficiaries. It oversees the post-graduate education and training of more than 150 medical and dental personnel annually, to include the 55th Medical Group Family Medicine Residency and Dental Residency Programs.
