Colonel Matthew C. Hensley

Colonel Hensley is the Commander, 55th Communications Group, 55th Wing, Offutt Air Force Base, Neb., where he leads Air Combat Command’s only Communications Group. His team of over 400 Airmen provides vital cyber operations and command and control communications for the Air Force’s largest and most diverse wing and more than 50 associate units including the 557th Weather Wing and 595th Command and Control Group. In addition, the 55th Communications Group provides critical nuclear command and control and missile warning communications support for United States Strategic Command and the National Airborne Operations Center.

Colonel Hensley enlisted in the Air Force in 1990 and earned his commission through Officer Training School in August of 2000. Colonel Hensley is a career Cyberspace Operations Officer, serving in various positions at the squadron, group, wing, joint, OSD, and
Headquarters Air Force level. He served as a Squadron Commander twice. Prior to his assignment at Joint Force Headquarters Department of Defense Information Network, he was a student at the Joint Advanced Warfighting School.

Colonel Hensley is married to Missy Hensley. Their two sons are Collin and Nathan.
