Local students honored in Congressional Award ceremony

The Congressional Awards program recognizes youth, ages 14 through 23, who achieve personal goals in public service, personal development, physical fitness and completion of an expedition or exploration. Eisert was one of four Sarpy County students to earn a Congressional Gold Medal while 13 others received silver and bronze medals or certificates. Air Force Col. Mark Williamson, 55th Wing vice commander at Offutt Air Force Base, and Frank Harwood, Bellevue Public Schools superintendent, right, also participated in the ceremony.
