Article 137 Briefings are accomplished through MyLearning. Once training is complete, please send a copy of the certificate to 55WG.JAGeneralLaw@us.af.mil. This training is for individuals who are re-enlisting, only part 1 is necessary. If you are assuming or being appointed to command and need to complete the Article 137 brief for your G-Series orders, please contact the 55^th Wing Legal Office at 55WG.JAgeneralLaw@us.af.mil.

Presently, our office will only be assisting Retirees with Wills, walk-in Powers of Attorney, and walk-in Notaries. Please see “Will” section below for instructions on how to get started making an appointment.

Legal Assistance JAGs cannot represent you in court or in administrative proceedings. We cannot provide assistance in the following areas: Issues involving personal commercial enterprises; Law of Armed Conflict issues; Official matters in which the U.S. Air Force has an interest or is involved in the final outcome; criminal matters; or questions regarding the USAF Standards of Conduct.

The DD Form 1840 / 1840R (pink form) must be submitted to the carrier within 70 days after delivery of a household goods shipment. This process can now be done online at https://claims.jag.af.mil. The online process only applies to Air Force sponsored moves. Members unable to file online may bring their pink forms to the claims office Mon. and Wed. 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., Fri. 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Questions regarding the new process may be addressed to the Air Force Claims Service Center at 1-877-754-1212 (24 / 7 customer service line).

The Operations Law Division generally refers to legal rules applicable in actual military operations. It is normally defined as that body of domestic, foreign and international law that impacts the activities of U. S. Armed Forces in war and operations other than war.  
 
Commanders must ensure their personnel are trained to comply with the Law of Armed Conflict (LOAC). All military personnel must accomplish this training every 20 months.
