Martin Luther King

The Stone of Hope, a Dr. Martin Luther King memorial, stands 30-feet tall in West Potomac Park next to the National Mall, Washington D.C. The memorial was inspired by King’s “I Have a Dream” speech and was sculpted in 2007 by Lei-Yixin from China. King was a social activist, civil rights leader and winner of the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964. (U.S. Air Force photo by L. Cunningham)
