Sharing Holiday Spirit

BELLEVUE, Neb.--Matt Showalter, Bellevue Chamber of Commerce membership services coordinator, hands of a holiday gift bag to Marty Delah, Operation Holiday Cheer volunteer, while other volunteers stand ready to continue the production line. About 35 volunteers gathered Dec. 15 in the Bellevue Volunteer Fire Department District One training room to fill more than 800 bags with everything from note pads and popcorn to candy and playing cards. Many of the bags also included personalized holiday cards made by students in local schools. The gift bags were then distributed to Offutt Air Force Base Airmen, Soldiers, Sailors and Marines living in base dormitories. This is the seventh year Bellevue Chamber of Commerce and area business have come together to spread a little holiday cheer to single military members at Offutt through Operation Holiday Cheer.
