Order of the Sword

OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Neb. - Senior Airman Matthew Solis, Barksdale AFB, La., and other honor guard members representing bases in Air Combat Command carry the ceremonial sword as part of the Order of the Sword ceremony honoring retired Gen. John D.W. Corley, former commander of Air Combat Command, at the Doubletree Hotel in Omaha, Neb., Jan. 13. The award was established by the U.S. Air Force enlisted corps to recognize and honor senior officers (colonels or above) and civilian equivalents, for "conspicuous and significant contributions to the welfare and prestige of the enlisted force and mission effectiveness."
