The 55th Maintenance Group and the 595th Command and Control Group held their 2019 Maintenance Professionals of the Year ceremonies Nov. 9.

The events recognize the achievements of top performers from the maintenance career field who support and enable the mission.

“The MPOY is a special time for us to recognize the sustained exceptional accomplishments our maintainers around the world have made this past year,” said Col. Michael T. Hammond, 55th MXG commander. “The execution of Offutt’s global ISR mission depends on having safe, reliable, and capable aircraft ready to deploy.  Our maintainers work hard every day to ensure our fleet is prepared for local training or air tasking order response in support of our combatant commander’s needs.”

In the 595th C2G, each flight nominates Airmen to include its geographically separated members at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. All winners from the 595th C2G move on to compete within 8th Air Force.

As for the 55th MXG, only winners of the Leo Marquez award, Thomas Barnes crew chief of the year award, General Lew Allen Jr. and Maintenance Management award move on to the numbered Air Force and MAJCOM.

“Each and every one of our maintainers do an outstanding job of ensuring aircraft are ready to meet the mission when called upon,” said Lt. Col. James Hodges, 595th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron commander. “The winners and the teams they represent are a reflection of the dedication and work ethic of our unit and I am proud of all of them.”
