The official tree for the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony comes to life with strings of blue and white lights just outside of the Patriot Club on Dec. 3, Offutt Air Force Base, Neb. The ceremony hosts a full buffet, photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, numerous vendors, distinguished visitors, live music and endless hot chocolate and sweets. The Offutt’s Annual Christmas Tree Lightning celebration is scheduled for Dec. 6, 2018, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Patriot Club.

Festivities begin with the tree lighting ceremony. Afterwards, Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive to welcome the crowd inside.
Attendees may enjoy music from the Fairview Chime Choir, and the "Offutt Brass" of the Heartland of America Band. Photos with Santa will also be available.
Additionally, children can shop for gifts in the Elf-Mart for $1. The mart is cash only and customers are limited to two gifts.
Furthermore, guests may partake in holiday crafts, face painting, family bingo, prizes, clowns, food, games and more.
Special local pageant guests to include Miss Nebraska 2018 Jessica Shultis, Mrs. Nebraska Anna Peters, Miss Nebraska Merrick Alexander, Mrs. Nebraska Cherryll Lindemann, Mrs. USA Erin Koesters, Miss Douglas County’s Outstanding Teen Phoenix Stanford, & Miss Omaha’s Outstanding Teen Daisy Sudderth, will sign autographs.
