OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Nebraska --
The time has finally come to shed jackets, grab camp chairs and head to the lake for food, fun, music and prizes.
That’s right, Friday, June 3 the Offutt Advisory Council’s annual Offutt Appreciation Day Picnic takes place at the Base Lake.
The community surrounding the base annually provides a free picnic for all employees of the installation and their families. The festivities kick off at 11 a.m.
“Before arriving, I had heard about the close community ties to be found here,” said U.S. Air Force Col. Marty Reynolds, 55th Wing commander. “And having lived here for almost a year now, I can assure you this community is second to none.”
There will be live music provided by the Heartland of America Band, free food, drinks and ice cream. There will also be inflatable jump houses, a rock climbing wall, face painting, animals and more.
Throughout the day, multiple prizes will be up for grabs via ongoing trivia. To culminate the event, at the end of the day, a raffle will be drawn and attendees will have the opportunity to win some large giveaways.
Attendees should be reminded that backpacks and coolers are not permitted at the picnic. In addition, pets are not allowed due to possible contamination and allergic reactions.
