Next CAF Day itinerary is set Published Aug. 27, 2013 55th Wing Public Affairs OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Neb. -- The next quarterly 55th Wing Comprehensive Airman Fitness Day kicks off with a FOD walk along the flightline at 7:15 a.m. on Aug. 29. At 8:45 a.m., the 55th Wing commander will hold an all-call inside Dock 1 of the Bennie Davis Maintenance Facility where he will preview the day's overall schedule and discuss his leadership philosophy in regards to resiliency, being a good Wingman and safety. "CAF Days are important to focus on taking care of and developing all Airmen. They help us create a culture in which we equip our Airmen with the resources they need to thrive" said Col. Gregory Guillot, 55th Wing commander. "I hope everyone learns about a few of the programs available to them here on base and how those programs can help us become better wingmen." Immediately following the all-call, Airmen will break out and participate in CAF Day sessions specifically tailored for their squadron throughout the day. "Our last CAF Day was such a success and we're hoping everyone looks forward to these events and what they bring to the 55th Wing and our Air Force," said Jack Sweet, 55th Wing community support coordinator. Sweet also said that spouses are invited to attend and participate in all CAF sessions throughout the day. "They're an important part of our community and I want to encourage them to come out and participate as much as they can," he said. Like the last CAF Day, Sweet teamed up with Capt. Thomas Borseth, 55th Operations Support Squadron, who worked closely with each squadron point-of-contact to ensure schedules met the true intent of the program. "As always we'll focus on the four pillars of CAF -- mental, physical, spiritual and social -- but we're also emphasizing safety and sexual assault awareness this time as well," Borseth said. All in all, more than 20 sessions are available for this quarter's CAF Day. They include everything from, 'Your Future, Your Choice,' which discusses the negative impacts of alcohol misuse to "Whale Done,' which is designed to help managers and supervisors recognize the power of positive relationships. "We truly have something for everyone," Sweet said. "Our session leaders and POCs have put a lot of time and effort into this and we think it's a real self-improvement opportunity for everyone." For evening and overnight workers, Guillot will hold a second all-call at 1:30 p.m. inside Dock 1. For more information on all the events available, contact your squadron or group CAF Day POCs.
