Annual Appreciation Picnic is June 6 Published May 28, 2014 55th Wing Public Affairs OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Neb. -- The Offutt Advisory Council is scheduled to host its annual Offutt Appreciation Day Picnic June 6 at the Offutt Base Lake. The picnic, which will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., is open to all Offutt AFB personnel and their families. Food, drinks, music, a rock climbing wall, bouncy castles, petting animals from the Henry Doorly Zoo, face painting - are all examples of the family fun that will be available at no cost to attendees. There will be prize giveaways and music will be played by the band Out of the Fire. Shuttles will run from the lower parking lot of U.S. Strategic Command to the base lake from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. There will also be shuttles specifically for dorm residents to and from the dormitory area. Additional parking is available at the lake, but people are advised to use the shuttle service in order to mitigate potential traffic congestion. As a reminder, no pets, backpacks or coolers will be allowed at the picnic. The OAC, which was founded in 1992, is a non-profit organization comprised of local community leaders with the purpose of building the bonds between the base and local community.
