Retiree Appreciation Day returns to Offutt Published Oct. 2, 2014 By Staff Sgt. Rachelle Blake 55th Wing Public Affairs OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Neb. -- Offutt is scheduled to host its 46th Annual Retiree Appreciation Day Sunday, Oct. 19, at the Base Exchange from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Included in the festivities, will be an opening ceremony featuring an invocation, presentation of the colors, playing of the National Anthem and guest speaker, U.S. Air Force Brig. Gen. Gregory Guillot, 55th Wing commander. "The event is designed to show appreciation to the retiree's contribution to the defense of our great nation and reaffirm our commitment to them," Guillot said. "Our focus is tailored to update them on their benefits as retirees through a variety of information booth from base representatives and local support agencies." As an added bonus, will be prizes and raffles including a 50" T.V., spirits and wines. Among the more than 20 booths set up at the BX, will be the 55th Medical Group, who will be administering flu shots. Also featured will be TRICARE, Veteran's Affairs and the Red Cross. Shuttle buses will also be available to transport retires to the I.D. card office, now located in building 49, as well as the legal and finance offices.
