An eye for healthy vision July 21, 2026

The 55th Medical Group's optometry clinic works hard to ensure their patients have healthy vision. One tool they use is a device called a non-contact tonometer. This device conducts tests which enables the optometrist to determine how healthy the eyes are and whether additional tests are needed to optimize the patients vision needs. Airman First Class Adrianna Yazzie, 55th Operational Medical Readiness Squadron ophthalmic technician, demonstrates how she uses the device to provide routine eye exams and to look for abnormalities that can adversely affect the patient. The device measures the intraocular pressure of the eye and prints the results so the optometrist can make an informed decision about the patient's vision. (U.S. Air Force photos by Daniel Martinez)
