Chief Master Sgt. Alex Eudy, 55th Wing command chief, U.S. Representative Mike Flood, Nebraska District 1, Col. Aaron Gray, 55th Wing commander, and U.S. Representative Brad Finstad, Minnesota District 1, pose for a picture in the lobby of the 55th Wing headquarters building on Offutt Air Force Base, June 15, 2026. Flood and Finstad visited Offutt Air Force Base to assess progress on the installation’s recovery and modernization following the historic 2019 flood and discuss Offutt’s current and future mission requirements. The visit underscored Offutt’s strategic importance to national defense and the need for sustained investment to ensure the installation remains resilient, operationally relevant and prepared to support combatant commanders across the full spectrum of competition and conflict. Offutt remains focused on war fighting readiness, developing mission-ready Airmen and delivering cutting-edge capabilities that provide a decision advantage to national leaders and joint force commanders. Through deliberate modernization, disciplined execution and a culture of innovation, Offutt is strengthening its position as a second-to-none innovation base — ready to meet today’s operational demands while developing the capabilities needed to deter, compete and prevail against future threats. (U.S. Air Force photo by Chad Watkins)
