BELLEVUE, Neb. -- The annual Offutt Advisory Council’s Appreciation Day Picnic was held at the Bellevue Berry and Pumpkin Ranch on May 31.
OAC Board of Directors member and annual picnic organizer Herman Colvin said, “We host this event to show how much we appreciate what everyone does in support of our nation, especially the families who have to spend time apart from their loved ones for large periods of time.”
Members and their families from team Offutt’s more than 10,000 personnel attended the event.
“Offutt Advisory Council is the hidden secret,” said Col. Mark Howard, 55th Wing commander. “We are stronger together and we will defeat any adversary because of the strength of our relationships that we have in this community.”
The picnic included free food, drinks, music from the U.S. Air Force Heartland of America Band, pony rides, bounce houses, rock climbing walls, face painting, hayrack rides and drawings for hundreds of prizes that were donated by local-area businesses.
The picnic has been coordinated by the OAC for 30 years.
“We are thankful to the service members and their families for being part of our community,” said Amanda Oliver, OAC member and Bellevue Public Schools Communications director. “
The Offutt Advisory council is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the outstanding men and women who have dedicated their lives to defending our freedom.
