The 2023 Retiree Appreciation Day takes place from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. Oct. 14, 2023, at the Offutt Exchange.

The free event includes a variety of free services to retirees, spouses, widows and widowers from more than 20 organizations from both on and off-base.

“We have worked extremely hard to make this the best Retiree Appreciation Day ever,” said 2d Lt Tylor Knox, 55th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron and event organizer. “We hope the attendees find it very informative and take back a lot of valuable information.”

Retiree Appreciation Day was held for 50 straight years until the COVID pandemic forced its cancellation in 2020. Thankfully, the event is back on the base calendar, where organizers believe it will remain long into the future.

“There is no group more important to us than our retirees,” Knox said. “They dedicated their lives to serving their country and for that we are forever grateful.”

With more than 26,000 retirees in the local area, Knox said they hope to have a huge turnout.

“We’ve sent out invites, placed ads and have been very aggressive with our marketing, so we’re hoping everyone got the word and plans to attend,” Knox said.
