The annual exercise serves to improve battle management, command and control, and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance integration and readiness across the Department of Defense and with our coalition partners. In addition, Resolute Hunter is providing the Fightin’ Fifty-Fifth an opportunity to test its Lead Wing capabilities. Kristen Thompson, 55th Wing commander. “I couldn’t be more pleased with how our Airmen are showing they can adapt and lead effectively in any environment.” Resolute Hunter is the DOD’s only BM, C2 and ISR exercise that focuses on the entire Find, Fix, Track, Target, Engage and Assess, or F2T2EA, kill chain, with an emphasis on F2T2 in particular. “If we can’t dominate C2 and the electromagnetic spectrum as the Air Force’s premier EMS experts, we simply won’t win the war,” Thompson said, “so exercises like this are absolutely vital and provide us an excellent opportunity to train as we fight.” Tech. Both events allow the Warhawks to manage and adjust to rapidly changing scenarios that force them to adapt quickly from that day’s original mission. “Resolute Hunter is another opportunity to change our overall warfighting mindset from a reactive force operating in permissive environments to one where we operate against a near-peer adversary in a contested environment,” Thompson said. This is the sixth time the 55th Wing has participated in Resolute Hunter.
