General John D.W. Corley will host his annual Air Combat Command Commander's Conference here this week for more than 100 senior leaders.

In addition to his position as ACC commander, General Corley is the Air Component commander for U.S. Joint Forces Command. As the commander, he is responsible for organizing, training, equipping and maintaining combat-ready forces for rapid deployment and employment while ensuring strategic air defense forces are ready to meet the challenges of peacetime air sovereignty and wartime defense.

General Corley, a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy, received his commission in 1973, and earned his wings at Reese AFB, Texas in 1974.

General Corley's aviation career includes more than 3,000 flying hours with combat experience. He has commanded at the squadron, group and wing levels.

General Corley has significant experience in intense combat, most recently during Operation Enduring Freedom. As Combined Air Operations Center Director, he orchestrated more than 11,000 combat missions striking more than 4,700 targets, including 250 attacks against the Al Qaida and Taliban leadership. He directed the safe recovery of isolated personnel during the largest combat search and rescue mission in 50 years and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal.

Team Offutt members are reminded to watch for staff cars around the base and render the proper customs and courtesies.
