Copper sulfate will be applied by a contractor on April 7-8 April which requires the lake to be closed to fishing, boating and contact - both human and pet - for five days, or until monitoring of the lake confirms the levels of copper are below drinking water standards. The base lake will also be closed to visitors and traffic during the application period, except for occupants of the Fam Camp and base members with horses at the stables. Signs will be posted around the lake stating the lake is closed and to keep pets away. The signs will be removed when the lake is reopened.
