Outdoor recreation offers Pacific Junction bike ride

Do you have a bike, like to ride, have fun and meet new people? If you answered "yes," then an opportunity for some healthy fun is on the way. 

The Offutt Outdoor Recreation Department is offering their 2nd annual bike ride, a 30-mile round-trip trek to Pacific Junction, Iowa Saturday 8 a.m., June 27th. According to Ken Roberts, any identification cardholders, their family members and friends can participate.
"Last Year we had around 10 to 15 participants," Mr. Roberts said. Currently, there are 11 participants signed up. 

Asked what the $7 fee covers other than toll charges, Mr. Roberts responded, with last year's bike ride, snacks were provided. There were water stations along the bike route and sport drinks at the end. In addition to this ride, there will be a van trailing the riders with first aid equipment and water for those individuals unable to complete the entire trail." 

Those wanting to participate can sign up by 7 p.m. June 22nd in the boat house at the Base Lake.
