55th FSS offers numerous Valentine's events

OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Neb. --  Love is in the air as Valentine's Day draws closer. Cupid will be taking aim and many people will be celebrating their love. This year the 55th Force Support Squadron offers several events for the Offutt community to spend time with special people in their life.

The Patriot Club offers a chance to dine and dance the night away at the Valentine Dinner and Dance Feb. 12 at 6:30 p.m. Attendees will enjoy a quiet dinner with the one they love with their choice of beef tenderloin, cedar plank-grilled salmon or chicken cordon bleu. After dinner, patrons will be able to spin their way to the dance floor for an evening of fun. The Patriot Club will provide a complimentary flower and candy. The community center hosts the 10th Annual Father-Daughter Valentine Dance Feb. 6, from 6 - 9 p.m. Dads and their little girls can spend an evening together with a delicious meal, dancing and games. A complimentary medieval times photo will be taken to commemorate your special night. Dress is semi-formal and medieval attire is optional. Tickets are limited. Prices are $20 per couple and $6 for each additional daughter. Suggested ages for this event are 4 - 12 years old. For more information, call 294-6247.

Snakes, snails and puppy dog tails -- that's what moms love about their little boys. Moms and sons ages 6 - 12 can celebrate Valentine's Day with the Mother and Son Extravaganza hosted by youth programs Feb. 5 from 6 - 8 p.m. Throw on your favorite team jersey and come out for an evening of dinner, games and fun. Prices are $10 per couple and $5 for each additional son. Deadline to register is Feb. 3. For more information or to register for this event, call 294-1686.

For couples who like to feel the burn, the Offutt Field House offers the Sweetheart 5K Run/Walk Feb. 6 at 9 a.m. Put on your running shoes and tackle this 5K run as a couple. Cost is $10. For more information, call the field house at 294-5413.
