Commanders from every installation within Air Combat Command are here the week of April 20 - 23 to attend the ACC Commanders Conference at the Dougherty Conference Center.

The conference, entering its eighth year at Offutt, offers wing commanders, Numbered Air Force and center commanders an opportunity to come together and discuss major issues with the commander of Air Combat Command, Gen. William M. Fraser III.

Lt. Col. Chris L. Canada, 55th Wing director of staff, said Offutt is thrilled to once again host the conference.

"Selection to continue hosting these events speaks volumes (for) the professionalism, hospitality and can do spirit embodied by the Airmen of the Fightin' Fifty-Fifth," Colonel Canada said.

A gathering of all the senior leaders in ACC is a huge event and the 55th Wing is proud to be selected as the host base for the 2010 conference, the colonel added.

Colonel Canada also said Team Offutt has developed somewhat of a reputation for successfully putting on big events.

"Last year, we hosted the ACC Outstanding Airmen of the Year Banquet along with the ACC Commanders Conference," he said. "Our performance and hospitality in setting up the banquet was so well received that future ACC OAY banquets will be held here."

Offutt has hosted the ACC Commanders Conference at the DCC 17 times since 1993. The ACC Chiefs Conference and more than 1,000 other conferences have been held at the facility in the past 10 years.

Micahel S. Blagoue, the DCC director, said that a state-of-the-art facility like the DCC provides an excellent location for senior leaders to meet.

The DCC is the largest conference facility in ACC and has the highest seating capacity in the main conference room which can accommodate 150 people comfortably, Mr. Blagoue said.

Mr. Blagoue also said that conference attendees will enjoy a clean, modern and comfortable conference center with all the conveniences required to get the job done.

The facility is located off SAC Boulevard and is a part of Offutt lodging, so attendees won't have to go far to find their rooms. Also, the facility is within walking distance of the Patriot Club, as well as the base exchange and fitness center.
