Cobra Ball
OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Neb. - Thirty years to the day that Cobra Ball 61-2664 crashed upon landing in severe weather at Shemya Air Force Base, Alaska, taking the lives of six crew members, six survivors of the stand side by side in front of a modern day Cobra Ball aircraft located in Dock 1 of Offutt's Bennie Davis Maintenance Facility here March 15. Friends and family of the surviving crew members were here for a memorial service at the 45th Reconnaissance Squadron headquarters, where a memorial stands to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
