The 2012 Combined Federal Campaign is coming to an end, so if you haven't signed up to participate already, time is quickly running out.

The CFC allows military, federal and postal employees to donate to local, national and international charities of their choice. This year the CFC is celebrating 50 years of raising money for non-profit civilian organizations.

So far this year the 55th Wing and its partner units, not including U.S. Strategic Command, have donated more than $227,000, which is almost 70% of its goal.

"With just over two weeks left, I hope everyone will take the time to make a donation to CFC," said Col. John Rauch, 55th WG commander. "This is a great opportunity to make a huge difference in people's lives across the country and help support hundreds of charitable organizations."

CFC was established in 1961 by President John F. Kennedy. It enables federal employees to donate to a charity from their paychecks, through their payroll system.

"Several base agencies have already met their goal and have done a tremendous job this year," said Capt. Dominic Gaskin, 338th Combat Training Squadron and wing CFC lead. "With a strong push here at the end we'll make our overall goal with no problem."

Gaskin said partner units such as the 20th Intelligence Squadron, Defense Commissary Agency, Detachment 10 ACC/TRSS and the 373rd Training Squadron Detachment 11 have all gone above and beyond as have multiple squadrons from the 55th Operations Group, Maintenance Group, Medical Group and Mission Support Group

"It is very easy this year to give," said Master Sgt. Judith Mulligan, CFC loaned executive. "You can either use the paper pledge form from your keyworker or you can login online."

To donate online, visit the CFC website at http://www.heartofthemidlandscfc.org/_root/ click Pledge Online, under Make a Pledge, click Register, and then follow the steps from there.

"It's fast and easy and only takes a few minutes," Mulligan said.
