Every day many patients enter the Ehrling Bergquist Clinic and are imaged by radiology. These images provide an integral part of their care plan. National Radiologic Technology Week is celebrated annually to recognize the achievements of radiologic technologists across the nation. The celebration takes place each November to commemorate the anniversary of the discovery of X-ray by Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen on Nov. 8, 1895.

As we celebrate this momentous occasion, take a moment to review the services provided at Offutt. The staff is comprised of 22 active duty and nine civilian personnel to include three board-certified radiologists. They have advanced beyond films and darkrooms and now offer digital imaging. They are able to accommodate routine radiographs and other modalities to include: fluoroscopy, Computed Tomography scans, ultrasound, mammography, MRI and bone density imaging. They accept off-base referrals and self-referred mammograms for all of their Tricare beneficiaries. They are also one of 11 Air Force Radiologic Technologist clinical training sites.

The Radiology Department is currently part of the remodeling project in progress, with plans to move across the hall from their present location within a few months. They will be moving in a new direction in patient care with an advanced women's imaging area integrated into their new location.

The Radiology Department is open 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday and is closed every third Thursday morning for training. They are located on the first floor down the hall from pharmacy and can be contacted for questions or appointments at 402-294-7405.
