The men and women of the 55th Electronic Combat Group came together June 27 for a change of command ceremony.

Col. George Reynolds assumed command from Col. Richard Fojtik, who had led the group since June 2011.

Reynolds comes to the 55th ECG from Washington D.C., where he was the Global Operations Directorate's chief of cyber operations.

The new commander is not new to the 55th ECG. Reynolds previously served as commander of the 42d Electronic Combat Squadron and 43d Expeditionary Electronic Combat Squadron at D-M as well as the 755th Expeditionary Electronic Combat Squadron commander in Southwest Asia.

A 1992 graduate of the Air Force Academy, Reynolds is an evaluator pilot with more than 1,900 flying hours in the EC-130E/H, C-130E/H, T-38 and T-37.

After more than 22 years in the Air Force, Fojtik is planning to retire in August. He graduated from the Air Force Academy in 1991 and immediately entered undergraduate pilot training. He has served in a variety of staff and command assignments throughout his career including chief of the Joint Special Operations Liaison Element for Special Operations Command Korea and Director, Strategic Plans and Programs for Twelfth Air Force (Air Forces Southern).

Fojtik has also flown and served in support of combat operations in Iraq, Afghanistan, Balkans, Liberia and Colombia.

Col. Gregory Guillot, 55th Wing commander, presided over the ceremony.
