The Ehrling Bergquist Clinic parking lot is scheduled to undergo renovations beginning May 21.

The renovations are being made to improve force protection measures.

“The whole purpose for this project is to improve the safety of our patients and staff members,” said Amber Christiansen, 55th MDG facility manager.

The current entrance will be closed during phase one of the project and vehicles will enter the campus from southbound 25th Street through a temporary entrance located just north of the main entrance. This temporary entrance will not be accessible to northbound traffic so patients should plan accordingly.

“Patients may want to consider adding a little extra time to their commute or adjust their schedule if possible,” Christiansen said.

Peak traffic hours typically occur between 7:15 – 8:30 a.m. and over the lunch hour from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Outbound campus traffic may only exit through the current Capehart Road exit.  However, an additional lane will be open from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. for outbound traffic turning left onto Capehart Road.

Patient parking areas in front of the clinic will not change and there will be minimal changes to staff parking areas.

The first phase of the parking lot project is expected to be complete in six to eight weeks and the entire project is scheduled for completion in December 2018.
