Rivet Joint ISR Crew Best in Air Force

An RC-135V/W Rivet Joint, like the one the crew of PYTHON 71 flew to earn the 2016 General Jerome F. O'Malley Award, climbs into the sky at Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska. The winning crew, recognized for their actions in support of Operation INHERENT RESOLVE in 2015, was comprised of Airmen from the 38th Reconnaissance Squadron, 45th Reconnaissance Squadron, 97th Intelligence Squadron, 338th Combat Training Squadron, 390th Intelligence Squadron, 55th Operations Group and the Royal Air Force's 51Squadron.The RC-135 Rivet Joint is a reconnaissance aircraft, and supports theater and national-level consumers with near real-time on-scene intelligence collection, analysis and dissemination capabilities. The Rivet Joint aircraft has maintained a constant presence in Southwest Asia since the early 1990s.
