Colonel Taylor Eavenson

Col Taylor Eavenson is the 55th Operations Group Commander, 55th Wing, Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska. The 55th Operations Group executes global airborne intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions directed by the President and Secretary of Defense, Joint Chiefs of Staff, Combatant Commanders, and national intelligence agencies. The group’s 11 squadrons and three detachments operate five separate models of aircraft. The 55th Operations Group is the largest operations group in Air Combat Command.

Col Eavenson entered the Air Force in September 2007 through ROTC from Southern Illinois University. He completed Student Navigator Training in July 2008 and Student Electronic Warfare Officer training in February 2009. Since then, he has served in a variety of electromagnetic support capacities at tactical and operational levels. Col Eavenson Commanded the 453d Electronic Warfare Squadron, led operations for 73 Airmen through 6 missions as a Detachment Director of Operations, and oversaw RC-135V/W tactics development and combat training scenarios for 16 mission ready crews.

Col Eavenson also served two years as an RC-135 V/W Weapons Instructor Course Instructor. Serving as the Assistant Director of Operations, Academics, with oversight of four ACC syllabi requirements and scheduling. He served as the Chief of Electromagnetic Warfare and Spectrum Operations, in the Electromagnetic Spectrum Enterprise Policy and Programs Office, for the Chief Information Officer, Office of the Secretary of Defense. Additionally, he has served as Aide-de-Camp to the Commander, United States Air Forces Europe and Africa. Prior to his current position, Col Eavenson was the Director of the Commander’s Action Group at Air Education and Training Command in JBSA-Lackland, TX.
