The Bellevue-Offutt Runway Run, traditionally 7 miles long and held Mother’s Day weekend, is now scheduled for May 12 at 7 a.m. with a distance of 3.1 miles.

The run starts at the Lied Activity Center in Bellevue, Neb., continues onto Offutt, where runners turn around on the runway and return to the center.

Additionally, a 1-mile family fun run and walk around the Lied Center is available.

Registration is now open online. Those registered before April 26th will receive a t-shirt. On-site registration is also an option and will begin at 5:30 a.m.

Due to security measures, an entry form must be completed prior to the race and only registered runners may run.

“While the goal of the race is to celebrate the long-standing partnership we have with Bellevue, we also have to make security a priority,” said Master. Sgt. Jacqueline Marquez, 55th Security Forces Squadron and Offutt project lead. “We want all the runners to have an enjoyable run. It is a rare opportunity, for some, to see the inside of a military installation. ”
