The 55th Medical Group is seeking volunteers to participate in their new Patient and Family Advisory Council, or PFAC.

The council will consist of 10 - 12 volunteers to include a combination of active duty, retirees, military family members and Ehrling Bergquist Clinic staff members.

“We are very excited to get the PFAC underway, but first we need a good mix of applicants from across our beneficiary demographic,” said 2d Lt. Ruchelle Austin, 55th Medical Support Squadron TRICARE operations and patient administration flight commander.

Those interested in participating in the PFAC must be enrolled to the 55th Medical Group and can request an application by emailing usaf.offutt.55-mdg.mbx.pfac@mail.mil the application can be downloaded here.

The PFAC concept was mandated by the National Defense Authorization Act as a requirement for all military healthcare facilities.

“We want this council to empower our patients to collaborate with us and share ideas that will improve patient experience and satisfaction,” Austin said.

The goal is to have the first PFAC meeting in December.
