OPERATION: Unchained

U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Scott Bettencourt, a pharmacy flight chief with the 55th Medical Support Squadron, stands in a knee-deep trench that will serve as the foundation for a working elephant corral in Chitwan National Park, Nepal. Bettencourt volunteered to spend two weeks building a corral with other volunteers from around the world. Corrals are quickly being adopted throughout the world as a better method of caring for working elephants. (photo courtesy of Elephant Aid International)
