10/5/2012 - OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Neb. -- More than 26,000 invitations have been sent to retirees from each branch of the armed forces for the 2012 Retiree Appreciation Day annual event, held at the Offutt Field House Oct. 21 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

This event is intended to give retirees from the local area and across the Heartland an opportunity to renew their government identification cards, get flu shots, tour the base and get briefings from various organizations.

"It's important to help our retirees and their families in their busy schedules," said Master Sgt. Laurie Kline, the Retiree Appreciation Day coordinator. "By hosting a day like this, we're making a one-stop shop for all their needs."

There will be booths offering information and services from numerous base agencies and pertinent organizations.

Airman and Family Readiness Center and 55th Force Support Squadron employees will be on hand to offer programs built to serve all of Team Offutt. Notary services for powers of attorney will be available at the legal booth and 55th Medical Group personnel will provide flu shots on a first-come, first-served basis.

Busses will provide transportation to off-site services. Replacement identification cards are available at the Bldg. C and the legal office will provide wills and legal counsel.

Handicap parking will be available on the east side of the field house.

For more information, call the Retiree Affairs office at 294-4566 or 294-2590.
