Col. Dixon is the Vice Commander, 55th Wing, Offutt Air Force Base, Neb. He assists the Commander in leading 7,800 Airmen organized into six groups and 32 squadrons, executing worldwide intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; electronic attack; command and control; presidential support; and treaty verification missions. He also enables base support to U.S. Strategic Command and 50 associate units, and 57,000 active-duty military and family members, civilian personnel and retirees in the Offutt Air Force Base area. Previously, he served as the Director, Signals Intelligence at National Security Agency / Central Security Service-Hawaii, where he led multiservice personnel executing joint intelligence and network operations.
Colonel Dixon is a graduate of the University of Missouri, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, and entered the Air Force in September 1991 as a Distinguished Graduate of the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps. He also holds a Master of Science degree in Telecommunications from the University of Colorado. Colonel Dixon is a graduate of the National Security Agency's Junior Officer Cryptologic Career Program, the Department of Defense Executive Leadership Development Program, and the Army Command and General Staff College.
Unit-level assignments and deployments include the 303d Intelligence Squadron, the 12th Expeditionary Intelligence Squadron, and Detachment 1, 17th Reconnaissance Squadron. As Commander, 31st Intelligence Squadron, the unit was awarded the National Security Agency Director's Trophy and the Air Force Association Unit Citation of Honor for its support to Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. Colonel Dixon's staff assignments include the Office of the Secretary of Defense, the Air Staff and Air Force Special Operations Command.
